Local and Foreigners in Service sector 本地人和外國人

I welcome foreign talents, but I'm quite worried about the future. What if 50% of Singapore's total population are locals. Are we getting too "globalized"?

我雖然歡迎外國人材,但是當我想象未來人口只有50%是本土人的話,不禁擔心起來...

  1. There's no "what if". We're almost there. I think it's almost 60-40% now, according to wikipedia. We will be there.

  3. Stores like Tangs and Robinsons still employ many Singaporeans.

It's the smaller stores that seem to skimp on the manpower costs to turn a quicker profit.

Shall we stop patronizing those stores? 不是跟钱包过意不去?

    1. Well no choice, if Singaporeans do not want to pay more for better service and quality, it'll difficult. But then again, whether or not we want to pay more depends on our salary. So overall, our minimum salary should be raised isn't it? However, I'm not a politician, just a thought :)
